Artwork Details

White Wolf Shops uses the Adobe suite for graphic design. We will also use Canva but often export the Canva files to an Adobe application to finalize the design. 

To ensure crisp, clear graphics, submit your artwork as a Sizable Vector Graphic (svg) true transparent PNG file at 300 DPI, built at the physical dimensions you want it printed.

To prevent potential surcharges if we need to recreate the design, provide program used to generate the design and all fonts used in the design.  

Please refrain from using AI to create the design unless you are certified on giving proper call prompts.  Without the proper call prompts, AI does not generate a file suitable for use.

Below are details of the file type needed:

Essential File Prep Requirements

• File Format: Use PNG-24 with a transparent background. Vector files like SVG or AI are preferred, but PNG files are acceptable. Refrain from submitting JPEGs.

• Resolution: Set canvas resolution to 300 DPI at final size to prevent pixelation or blurriness.

• Color Mode: Work and export in RGB (sRGB) or CMYK.  We will need to select color codes to ensure the color is as close to the desired output.  DTF can produce any color and even gradients!  Refrain from gradients for lasered products.

• No Mirroring: Leave your design normal. Do not flip or mirror the file.

• Fill: Avoid large designs with a lot of ink fill throughout the design. This results in a stiffer design and potentially reduces the life of the design on the garment.  Adding “negative space”, areas of no ink, allows the garment to show through and helps with the feel and life of the finished product.

Design Rules for Clean Prints

• Transparent Backgrounds: Delete background layers completely. A white layer set to zero opacity will still print as a white box.  Not having a background from the start is the only way to generate a desired print.

• Line Thickness & Text: Keep lines at least 1 mm thick and text above 6 pt so tiny details or letter centers do not drop out or fill in.  For DTF, small dots and thin lines may not get enough adhesive and will not stick to the garment.

• Avoid Faint Opacity: Avoid transparency or gradients below 75% opacity, because the white under base layer drops out in faint areas and can cause unexpected cutoffs.
